20 Oct UV Care Donates to RVM Sisters Convent Quezon City
The Congregation of the Religious of the Virgin Mary at N. Domingo St. Quezon City, Philippines has been on lockdown since September 14 due to a COVID-19 outbreak. To address the situation, UV Care Air Purifiers and UV Care Shield 150 were requested to help in the recovery of over 100 infected nuns and staff inside the compound. And as a response to the situation inside the RVM compound, UV Care donated a total of six air purifiers — two Clean Air 6-Stage Air Purifiers, two Super Air Cleaner 7-Stage Air Purifiers, and two 8-Stage Air Purifiers with Humidifiers and UV Care Shield 150 — to assist infected and uninfected quarantined nuns and staff. The Clean Air 6-Stage Air Purifier has a coverage area of 30 square meters, perfect for large bedroom use. The Super Air Cleaner 7-Stage Air Purifier can cover up to 60 square meters of space, best for offices or conference halls used by the nuns, while the 8-Stage Air Purifier with Humidifier covers up to 80 square meters of space, suitable for ICU wards, large dining areas, and living rooms. These devices are all equipped with medical-grade H13 HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Absorbing) filters that effectively filter out even the smallest particles, including droplets that carry viruses in the air. These air purifiers come with superior UV-C Germicidal lamps that kill bacteria and viruses as it passes through the device. They also emit negative ions to help clean the air from airborne pathogens. These filters are also associated with photocatalyst and cold catalyst filters that break down cell-damaging substances, such as benzene, ammonia, and TVOC that could further weaken the immune system, which is the major system needed in combating the virus. Moreover, the 8-Stage Air Purifiers come with a humidifier, which ensures that odor-canceling mists released from the device are germ-free. The best part about these devices is that they feature a user-friendly air quality indicator that shows the type of air circulating in a given space. Different colors indicate the level of air contamination– green for excellent air, orange for good air, and red for poor air. “UV Care has a wide range of UV-C devices that are tested and proven to effectively kill harmful bacteria and inactivate viruses. Given the right dose and duration and with direct exposure, UV-C radiation may be effective in inactivating the SARS-CoV-2, which is the virus that causes COVID-19,” said UV Care brand manager Vassy Yap, regarding how UV Care air purifiers could help in this type of situation. “As we all know, the COVID-19 has recently been found airborne. So in this case our UV Care purifiers and UV Room Sterilizers will be able to help minimize transmission and provide better ventilation in the convent,” Yap added. UV Care is a US FDA-registered medical device for air cleaning, general hospital and personal use. It filters toxic air by killing germs, bacteria, and airborne pathogens at a DNA level of purification. The brand is trusted by multiple hospitals, such as The Medical City, Diliman Doctors Hospital, Manila Doctors Hospital, The Health Cube, and DOH-Research Institute for Tropical Medicine to name a few, together with other businesses, establishments, and major institutions in the country.
