UV LIGHT IN WASTE WATER TREATMENT

UV, or ultraviolet, light disinfects waste water by damaging the DNA and RNA of microorganisms such as salmonella, giardia, microscopic worms and viruses. Treating waste water with UV light is effective and safe for those who work with it. In addition, it does not leave a chemical product that can cause pollution. The disadvantage of UV light is that it is less effective if the waste water has high amounts of particles that absorb UV light and shield microorganisms from harm.
